The list of OG's that are making a comeback just continues to grow. Well now we can add another to the list. In addition to the Shaqs and the Ewings, next up is the Etonic "Akeem The Dream", Hakeem Olajuwon's signature sneaker. The sneakers pay homage to the Rockets with a Houston inspired colorway. The high top build and the premium leather screams the shoe's original release decade: the 80s. They'll be available at Packer shoes before you know it.
Care for some leather anyone? KITH and Puma have come up with an "Achromatic" masterpiece for the streets. The shoes are composed of Italian (Yes, Italian) leather. Smooth and chic would be an understatement. These kicks are supporting a simple and elegant look, so branding was not used in the design. You could probably walk in a church with these and still be on your Sunday's best. Get ready for the Kith x Dover Street Market x Puma XT-2 “Achromatic” Pack this Saturday July 26 exclusively at KITH and All Dover Street Market stores.
Saucony and Bodega are collaborating yet again to create something sweet for your feet. The Saucony G9 Shadow 6 blends a dark tealish green with purple polka dots (kind of like Barney). The midsole is tan and off white featuring a triangular pattern. This shoe in particular is only half of the pack. The Polka Dot pack also includes the Saucony Grid 9000. Look out for these on August 9th.
Promo pairs of the Nike Stefan Janoski "Beach Picnic" have been floating around in the hands of a few very lucky sneaker lovers. The shoe features a pattern that reminds you of the sandiest place you'll ever go. It includes beach balls, volleyball nets, bicycles, and umbrellas-- things you would normally see at the beach. The tan overall color represents the endless sand. What a way to celebrate summer! Unfortunately these have yet to reach retailers, but good luck if you're looking!
Jordan Future has kept it's promise and continued to keep the colorways rolling in. Next up in the "Sport Blue". This color is pretty common on Jordans, but new to the Future franchise. The shoes sport a greyish/white upper with a sport blue sole. Correct me if I'm wrong but, they sort of remind me of Air Jordan 18s. Either way, I'm sure whenever these release, they'll be a favorite.
Ewing Athletics has been doing a superior job of releasing their various line of sneakers in "must-have" and standout colorways. They aren't straying away from that by any means as they bring consumers the Ewing Center "Georgetown" sneaker. Paying homage to his alma mater, the Ewing Center boasts the infamous Georgetown Hoya grey and navy blue colors. According to Ewing Athletics the sneaker will make its debut sometime in August. Keep it locked to SneakerThirst for updates as they become available with an official price and release date!
So Eastbay is back at it again with the restock of Retro Jordans. If you remember, a few months back they did exactly the same thing and caused mass hysteria for sneaker consumers as were informed of over twenty re-releases. This time, it's the exact same thing but we're hip to the game now. Most of the sneakers are only available in big sizes (sz 14 & up) however a few sneakers like the Carmine 6's are available in almost a full size run. So in case you're interested, make sure you're near a internet-ready device by 8am TODAY to try and get the sneaker you want! Hit past the flip for more photos of sneakers that will be reeled also.
If you know a thing or two about shoes then clearly the name Ronnie Fieg rings a distinct bell for yow. Previous Ronnie Fieg collaborations between Asics and New Balance have been seen as legendary. This time around Ronnie Fieg is teaming up with Puma to present the "Achromatic Collection".
Sneakercon is back and better than ever this year coming to the city that never sleeps, later on this month. The Sneakercon crew has acquired space at New York's Pier 94, expanding a little over 50,000 square feet than the last sneaker con event location. So there's plenty of room for vendors and shoe enthusiasts to showcase their products and services. The event will be held from 12pm-7pm, plenty of time to shop around or just spectate. This is one you don't want to miss. The countdown has begun! Just a week left. Get you tickets here.
There's something about that oh so reflective 3M material that keeps shoe makers coming back for more. The next pair to be blessed with the 3M is the Air Jordan 13. The 13's have used the shiny stuff on pairs, but never to this extent. I can only imagine what a UV Blacklight does to em. These kicks are set to release in October, so shoe lovers, you have about 3 months to put your cash aside.
